OUTLINE — From Skills to Scale: NQ Business Growth Workshop

From Skills to Scale

From Skills to Scale is a one-day business growth workshop for North Queensland contractors and trade businesses. Build your company foundation, define your best customers, unlock the value sitting in your team, and walk out with a connected set of business and digital assets — built in one guided day, using your own facts.

1 Day — Guided company build   ·   16+ — Working outputs   ·   Up to 50 — Onsite participants

Capable Businesses Lose Ground When the Evidence Is Scattered

Most NQ contractors and trade businesses aren't short of experience. They're short of organised evidence, consistent language and a reusable business context. The result is predictable: tenders and grants start from a blank page, staff skills stay invisible, marketing drifts, and the owner becomes the only person who can explain how the business actually works.

This is not an AI theory session. You bring your own business knowledge into the room — CDD's structured prompts and facilitator turn it into a connected set of documents that sound like your business, not a generic template. See how CDD solves this for compliance documentation specifically

What the day delivers

One Business, One Shared Foundation, Many Reusable Outputs

This business growth workshop is built around three phases that compound on each other:

01 — Build a Reusable Foundation

Business DNA, Customer Persona, Business Value Proposition, Brand Identity, Capability, Capacity and WHS working documents — all built from one verified source of truth. Business DNA Builder

02 — Turn Skills Into Pathways

The owner or manager completes a private Personal Value Proposition first. Selected staff can later identify cross-skill, role-upgrade and growth pathways of their own. PVP Builder

03 — Become Easier to Find and Trust

LinkedIn Company Page, Google Business Profile, a Business Model Canvas, a priority Customer Journey Map and a 30-day activation plan to put it all to work. Blueprint Builder

Built for

This Business Growth Workshop Is Built For

  • Business owners, directors and general managers who decide where the business is going
  • Operations or project managers who know delivery, workload and project evidence
  • Admin, finance, WHS and compliance staff who hold the records and the risk picture
  • Business development, marketing and technical staff who know customers and services
  • Established SMEs, contractors, trades, civil businesses and growing service businesses

Bring enough people into the room to answer the hard questions with confidence. A small business may only need the owner and one key staff member; a larger or more complex business benefits from several managers or specialists in the room together.

Practice proof: Redstone Civil

A Fictional NQ Civil Case Study, Run Through the Same Workflow

34 min — Full Business DNA build   ·   3–8 min — Typical per-document build time once inputs are ready   ·   16+ — Documents produced across the full sequence

Redstone Civil Pty Ltd is a fictional practice company used for training demonstration. All outcomes are illustrative and not a guaranteed result for every participant. Recorded times assume business facts are ready and the participant can make decisions — input preparation, AI-account limits, internet speed and QA can extend the day.

Built-in quality assurance

Support and QA

19. Completion check — Is Business DNA filled out with enough information, and are the required documents created, saved and free of empty text boxes?
20. Business accuracy check — Does each draft match the evidence supplied on the day?
21. Understanding check — Do participants know which claims still need verification before formal use?
22. Post-event review — A paid CDD audit is available on request, separately quoted after the document set is reviewed.

Important — Workshop outputs are practical working drafts. CDD does not verify every legal, financial, WHS, technical or commercial claim during the event. Completed documents should be reviewed by the relevant business owner, subject expert, accountant, WHS adviser, legal adviser or industry specialist before formal use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need AI experience?

No. You bring the business facts; the structured prompts and facilitator handle the AI side. Claude is the primary platform, with ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot as fallbacks.

What if our information isn't complete on the day?

That's expected for some businesses. Incomplete inputs simply convert into a documented follow-up list — a clear, prioritised to-do rather than a stalled day.

Are these documents ready to submit straight after the workshop?

They're high-quality working drafts, not approved documents. Every claim — legal, financial, WHS, regulatory — needs verification and sign-off before formal use.

Will we get a tender or grant application out of the day?

If your Preparation Pack is completed in advance, the last part of the day is used to review your top current tender and grant matches and draft as many applications as time allows. This is time-permitting, not guaranteed for every business — any unfinished drafts convert into a follow-up action list.

How many people should attend this business growth workshop?

Enough to answer the Business DNA questions with confidence. A small business may only need the owner and one key staff member; a larger business may benefit from several managers or specialists in the room. Onsite delivery supports up to 50 participants.

What happens after the session?

You leave with editable drafts, a 30-day activation plan and a completion review. A paid post-event audit is available on request, and you can choose a next pathway — further training, membership, or done-for-you support.
